Watching this for the first time not only sent chills up my spine, it moved me to tears
As a worshiper and musician, I realize that stylistically, worship music can be subjective. Some Christians love contemporary music, while others are more comfortable with traditional hymns. Ultimately, however, it all boils down to expressing our love to our Lord, does it not?
That said, I'd like to introduce our readers to Brazilian worship leader Davy Maia. I was introduced to him myself only last week...via a video feed on a large screen at our church. Prior to viewing the video, I had heard of Davy from a team who had just returned from Brazil on a mission trip. They couldn't say enough about the incredibly powerful move of the Holy Spirit that followed this man's gifting as he played his saxophone, both on stage and as he moved among the prostrate crowd, ministering to them on his instrument.
By clicking on the link provided below, you will be able to hear Davy play Shout to the Lord on his saxophone. (Note: Fast-forward through the first 2-3 minutes of the tape where he is speaking in Portuguese. Listening with headphones will improve the sound.)
Regardless of your personal preference in worship styles, there is no denying the passion for Christ that literally drives this musician to give his all on his instrument. Watching this for the first time not only sent chills up my spine, it moved me to tears. Granted I saw this on a large screen and through a great P.A. system, but the Holy Spirit isn't limited by such trifles.
What a marvelous God we have, Who ministers to us through brothers and sisters around the world we haven't ever met! Enjoy....
